ROBERTSDALE, Alabama -- Despite stormy weather, which cancelled Thursday night’s Homecoming parade, students at Robertsdale High School partied on with a pep rally Friday, culminating in the crowning of the 2018 Homecoming King and the awarding of the spirit stick.
The pep rally began with a “Lip Dub” to music in in keeping with this year’s theme “Party Like It’s 1999” with tunes from each era beginning with the 1950s, on up through the 1990s.
The Homecoming Court was introduced followed by the royal crowning. Senior Josh Gardner, pictured with RHS Principal Joe Sharp, was named RHS Homecoming King for 2018, while the spirit stick went to the seniors.
The Homecoming Queen was crowned during halftime festivities of the Golden Bears’ varsity football game against Faith Christian Academy Friday night at J.D. Sellars Stadium.
Melody Weaver, pictured with escort Matthew Weaver, 2017 Homecoming Queen Maddie Feller and RHS Principal Joe Sharp, was crowned Homecoming Queen for 2018.
Other members of the senior court were, Queen’s Court, Anna Criswell, Amara Gruber, Sarah Hicks, Jackie Landeros, Brittney McClantoc, Josie MuCullough, Blakeley Mosley and Catie Roberts; King’s Court, Finn Agee, Christian Aikens, Bryce Coleman, Jaden Crawford, John Kelley, Collin Laird, Tyler Living and Dylan Parnell.
Also on the Queen’s Court are freshmen, Heaven Dalton, Abby Larkin, Ali McDaniel; sophomores Emily Asberry, Sabrina Collins, Maddie Cooper; juniors Anaidi Melendez, Maggie Moore and Kelly Rogers.
