OWA Parks & Resort is gearing up for a February filled with excitement, entertainment and family-friendly festivities.
Whether you're a music lover, a movie buff or looking to celebrate Mardi Gras in style, OWA has something for everyone.
Music enthusiasts will want to kick off the month with a series of live performances at the OWA Theater. The action starts with "White Tie Rock Ensemble: 70's Brit Pop" on Feb. 1, where the tribute band will bring the best of '70s Brit Pop to life. From David Bowie to Queen and Elton John, the show promises symphonic artistry that will transport audiences back in time.
For Beatles fans, Feb. 7 and 8 bring the Grammy-nominated "Liverpool Legends: The Premier Beatles Tribute." Handpicked by George Harrison's sister, Louise, this tribute band recreates the magic of The Beatles with hit songs like "Hey Jude" and "Let It Be."
On Feb. 6 and 13, OWA will host $10 Matinee Movies featuring classic films. "Help!" (1965), starring The Beatles, will kick off the month on Feb. 6, while Elvis Presley takes the spotlight on Feb. 13 with "Girls! Girls! Girls!" (1962). At just $10 per ticket, it's a perfect escape into cinematic nostalgia.
For Valentine's Day, enjoy "Love Me Tender: Elvis Valentine's Show" on Feb. 14 and 15. With Shane Tucker & The Promised Land Band, the tribute show will take you through Elvis' early days and his rise to the King of Rock 'n' Roll.
Then, "Hero Takes A Fall: An Original '80's Musical Featuring Hits of The Bangles" will have audiences dancing and singing along from Feb. 21 to 23. This rom-com musical, written by OWA Theater Manager Ashlyn Sizemore, is filled with hits like "Manic Monday" and "Eternal Flame" and tells the heartwarming story of friendship, love and self-discovery.
On Feb. 26, don't miss a special screening of "Echo in the Canyon," a documentary about the Laurel Canyon music scene and its impact on the sound of the 1960s.
