Orange Beach’s Waldrop signs with Southeastern golf

Lady Mako set to join nationally ranked Fire squad after graduation

Posted

March 15, Alley Beth Waldrop signed her National Letter of Intent to join the Southeastern Fire women’s golf team after graduating from Orange Beach High School.

Waldrop joined the Lady Mako squad this season and was the team’s low medalist at its match against St. Michael Catholic March 2. She followed that up by winning the Admiral Award for sportsmanship at the Bayside Admiral Invitational Tournament March 14 where she was also named to the all-tournament team.

She’s set to transition into a roster spot on a Southeastern squad that checked in at No. 6 in the March 21 edition of the NAIA Coaches’ Top 25 Poll. The Fire had won half of their eight tournaments to that point and finished no lower than third in the other half. The Southeastern men’s team was also ranked No. 10 in the poll.
