Orange Beach’s Hodo named top 2026 softball prospect

Mako teammate Favors ranked No. 2 prospect among rising sophomores

Legacy and Legends Softball recently released prospect rankings that featured some local student-athletes.

Broken up by graduation year, the Orange Beach Makos had the top 2026 prospect in catcher Ava Hodo and the No. 2 prospect in the Class of 2025 in pitcher Kaylee Grace Favors. Hodo was joined by teammate Teagan Revette (catcher/utility) who checked in at No. 30 and Favors had fellow Mako Daigle Wilson (utility) join her in the rankings.

Also in the 2025 rankings were Baldwin County High's Madilyn Byrd (pitcher) at No. 15 and Spanish Fort's Haley Hart (middle infield) at No. 43.

Among prospects in the Class of 2024, Gulf Shores' Tia Titi (catcher) checked in at No. 20. All of the local student-athletes also play their travel softball in the Birmingham Thunderbolts organization.

For the two-time defending state champions, Orange Beach's softball future remains in the capable hands of Hodo, Favors and many more talented Makos.

"Ava is one of the most dominant catchers in the age group. Her ability to control the running game and manage a pitching staff is unmatched. She is a hitter that makes other coaches and pitching staffs feel the need to be very careful when she is in the box," said Coach Cam Byars with the Thunderbolts Premier 2025 team. "The thing that I think separates her from everyone else is her ability to go to a different place in the biggest moments. Her ability to focus and be clutch when you need her the most makes her special."

Similarly, Byars said Favors benefits from her experiences in major moments.

"KG is a huge add for us. She has a lot of big-game experience, and she already has the attention of a number of high-level coaches," Byars said in the rankings release. "Her ability to hit the ball consistently with power in addition to her ability to dominate hitters in the circle makes her one of the biggest impact players in the class."
