The Orange Beach City Schools district is celebrating a milestone achievement as its Class of 2024 has reached a 100% graduation rate, a significant accomplishment that reflects the hard work of students, educators and the entire community.
This achievement marks a major moment for the district, as every student who began ninth grade four years ago successfully completed their high school journey on time according to a news release.
The 100% graduation rate, which includes all students who enrolled during the four-year period, stands as a testament to Orange Beach's commitment to academic success. Superintendent Randy Wilkes attributed the achievement to the collaborative efforts of teachers, staff and community partners who worked diligently to support students throughout their education.
"We are incredibly proud of our students and the dedicated staff who supported them throughout their educational journey," Wilkes said in the release. "This achievement is a testament to the power of collaboration and our collective focus on preparing students for success in college, career and life."
Orange Beach's achievement follows an impressive 98% graduation rate for the Class of 2023, a figure that will contribute to the Alabama State Department of Education's official Report Card, set for release later this year. The new 100% rate further elevates Orange Beach City Schools' standing among Alabama's top-performing districts, underscoring the district's dedication to fostering academic excellence.
