Baldwin County’s Bicentennial Park will come alive with history, heritage and hands-on fun when the annual Olde Time Days Festival returns Saturday, Oct. 4.
Hosted by the Baldwin County Commission’s Department of Archives and History, the family-friendly event will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the park’s grounds along Hwy. 225, about 1.5 miles north of I-65. This year’s theme, “Harvesting Our Farming Heritage,” honors the farmers and traditions that shaped Baldwin County’s communities.
Visitors will experience a step back in time through live demonstrations of plowing, peanut threshing and hay baling. The festival’s signature parade rolls out at noon, while the antique car and tractor show, always a crowd favorite, makes its return.
Music will fill the day with performances by The Chestangs, Unknown Bluegrass Band and the Path to Peace Choir. Festival-goers can also enjoy Southern-style cooking, sweet treats and cold drinks while browsing local vendor booths.
Children will have plenty to explore, from a carnival and giant slides to Uncle Joe’s Rolling Petting Zoo. Train rides, hayrides, face painting, balloon art, Kona Ice and games round out the activities designed for young visitors.
Organizers say Olde Time Days is more than just a festival. It’s a celebration of Baldwin County’s agricultural past, an opportunity to learn about history and a chance for families to create lasting memories together.
