October Island Spirit Award presented to Alvita Simmons

Posted

The Island Spirit team from the Coastal Alabama Business Chamber managed to surprise yet another recipient. The October Island Spirit Award was presented to Alvita Simmons.

Simmons is a longtime volunteer with the Coastal Alabama Business Chamber and the marketing and business development coordinator for The Law Offices of Brenton C. McWilliams. She was nominated by a community member and chosen by the Island Spirt committee.

Co-workers sent Simmons on an errand to give the Island Spirit team time to set up and surprise her upon her return. To celebrate, the office provided lunch and cake.

The nomination mentioned that Simmons is “hardworking, compassionate and a true joy to be around. She greets clients with such warmth and charm.”

The Coastal Alabama Business Chamber and Beachball Properties present the Island Spirit Award monthly to an individual who works on the island and displays an attitude of concern, warmth and hospitality. Past recipients have been waitstaff, service station attendants, police officers and receptionists. If you would like to nominate someone visit mygulfcoastchamber.com/islandspiritaward.
