FOLEY — South Alabama Sand Boas presented the second-annual exotic pet expo at the Alabama Gulf Coast Music Hall, or the big red barn at the intersection of the Foley Beach Express and Highway 98. Dozens of vendors sold and displayed pet insects, birds and reptiles to hundreds of attendees. Some vendors and attendees traveled from Virginia, North and South Carolina and Texas to take part in this event. Vendors were selling pets from tiny, baby Chinese mantises to juvenile Komodo dragons and other goods from glass enclosure cleaners to miniature "luxury apartments" for spiders.
