It was cold this week, but get ready to catch a big wave. OWA Parks & Resort has completed phase 2 of construction on its water park and will open Big Water Bay and Coastal Curl Friday, March 24.
Big Water Bay and Coastal Curl are part of the outdoor phase of Tropical Falls, an until now only indoor water park. Big Water Bay is a 30,000-square-foot tropical wave pool. For visitors looking for more of a challenge, they can head over to Coastal Curl, a surf simulator and hang 10.
The newly completed outdoor area also includes additional dining and beverage locations as well as an area to lay in the sun and work on your tan.
The 100,000-square-foot indoor, enclosed portion opened in June 2022 and is the region’s largest indoor water park. It’s also the only one in the nation with a retractable roof. It boasts 11 slides, a kid’s area, a lazy river, arcade, dining and beverage locations.
