New golf tournament at Elberta's The Preserve on Soldier's Creek to benefit Baldwin's at-risk youth

Posted

For those who like golf and helping others, a new tournament is right up your alley.

Registration is open for the inaugural Charity Golf Tournament to benefit the Dream Center of Baldwin County. The tournament will be held on Friday, April 14, at The Preserve on Soldier’s Creek in Elberta.

The Dream Center of Baldwin County is a nonprofit located in Foley serving at-risk youth ages 12-18 in Baldwin County. It provides support through education, advocacy and mentorship by ensuring that participants have access to basic physical, emotional and financial resources.  The Center partners with Juvenile Justice and area schools to help break the cycle of abuse, victimization and criminality by providing mentoring, conflict resolution training, drug and alcohol education and accountability, classroom tutoring and homework assistance, financial assistance for clothing needs and extra-curricular activities, a food pantry, workforce readiness and post-secondary education assistance.

The Dream Center Charity Golf Tournament serves as one of the primary fundraisers for the program. Because the Dream Center offers its services free of charge to participants, their mission is dependent on the support of individuals and businesses in our community.

Team entry is $500 per foursome and includes lunch, silent auction, tournament T-shirt and awards ceremony following the tournament. Prizes will be awarded for teams that place first through third as well as longest drive, closest to the pin, beat the pro, chipping and putting contests and more. Ticket options are also available for non-players for the luncheon and silent auction.

Registration is open until April 7.
