Mr. John R. Sturma was a native of Silverhill, Alabama and a resident of Robertsdale, Alabama. He passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at the age of 80. Mr. Sturma was a 1960 graduate of Robertsdale High School. He served in the United States Army and went on to serve six years in the Unites States Air Force Reserves. When his boys were young, he enjoyed hunting with them. He always loved to fish, especially with his friends. Mr. Sturma loved the outdoors, and it gave him pleasure to work at keeping his yard beautiful and feeding and watching the many variety of birds. But mostly he loved to work. Mr. Sturma was a home builder in Baldwin County for over 40 years. He was a kind, compassionate and humble man. A good man. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Edna Lyrene Sturma; brothers, Charles Sturma and Ed Sturma; sister, Jane Sturma Williams and is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dolores Sturma; two sons, Chris (Debbie) Sturma, Charles (Sherry) Sturma and eight grandchildren, Christopher, Joseph, Elizabeth, Jack, Savannah, Robert, Eva Grace and Hailee. A memorial visitation will be held Monday, February 20, 2023 at Mack Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. A memorial graveside will be scheduled at a later date.
