Mathilde Alice Jumonville

Mathilde Alice Jumonville (Mattie), resident of Foley Alabama, passed away Sat., Jan. 4, 2025, at the age of 73. She was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana.

She was a devout Catholic and attended St. Margarets of Scotland Catholic Church.  Mathilde's passion for Art and family gatherings with her two grandchildren.

Mathilde shined as queen of the Krewe of Achaeans Carnival Gala of New Orleans, Louisiana in 1972.  She fully enjoyed the dazzling celebrations. Recently in 2022, she attended the Gala as the 50th year queen, which brought her great joy, reminiscing about the memories she had created over the decades.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Moreau James Jumonville, Alice Stapleton Jumonville; her brothers, Moreau J. Jumonville Jr. and Raymond Jumonville.

She is survived by her son, Ken S. Zadnichek, Jr. (Carmen); her stepson, Donovan C. Zadnichek, all from Silverhill, Alabama; grandchildren Kaitlyn Zadnichek of Mobile Alabama, and Konrad Zadnichek of Silverhill Alabama; sisters, Francoise J. Vosbein of Diamondhead, Mississippi. and Suzanne J. Donovan of Fairhope Alabama; along with niece, and nephews. And devoted Alumni of Mercy Academy NOLA.

Visitation was held Sat., Jan. 11, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a chapel service at 11:00 a.m. at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope Alabama. Interment was held at Brook-Cedron Cemetery immediately after the service.
