Mary Laurel Mennuto, age 36, a resident of Gulf Shores, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2022. She and her husband retired to Gulf Shores after his 22-year Naval career. She loved to travel and loved the water, so it was fitting that she married a Sailor. While stationed overseas, she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and was the valedictorian of her class. She used her knowledge to hustle everywhere and everything and those who knew her know what that means. She always gave back and never said “No”. While they were stationed in San Diego, she fostered more than 75 puppies over a 2-year period. She may have even fostered some of the people reading this. Her willingness to help anyone she came across was incomparable. Mary was an impromptu free spirit with a heart of gold.

She is survived by her husband Daniel Mennuto; fur babies Pinot, Moscato, Scout; mother Laura (Richard) Pfizenmayer; father Ernest McMeans (Donna Holley); sisters Claire Raby, Paula Chalphant; brothers Mac McMeans, Paul (Bunni)Pfizenmayer, Greg Pfizenmayer; mother-in-law Patricia Saulina; father-in-law Frank Mennuto; 14 nieces and nephews as well as numerous friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 23 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Chapel, 18673 Scenic Hwy 98, Fairhope, AL 36532. The family will host a celebration of life at her home in Gulf Shores the following day, Sunday, at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to her favorite non-profit organization, California Labradors, Retrievers and More, where she and her husband fostered more than 75 puppies over a two-year-period. https://labsandmore.org/donate/.

The family is asking that you write a memory and/or photo and send it to daniel.mennuto@gmail.com to be complied in a memory book.
