Mary Clemmons Kelly, age 68, a resident of Bay Minette, Alabama, died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2021, at Mobile Infirmary. Mary was born on December 1, 1952, in Hartford, Alabama. She was a 1971 graduate of Geneva High School, as well as a 1973 graduate of Enterprise State Junior College and a 1976 graduate of Troy State University where she received her B.S. Degree.

Mary was a former Library Assistant as well as State and National Certified Nursing Home Activity Director. She also worked at the Baldwin Times as a photographer and journalist. Mary loved her community where she was a member of the Bay Minette Civic Club, North Baldwin Infirmary Auxiliary, American Legions Ladies Auxiliary and the Red Hat Society. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Bay Minette where she served at Chairperson of Circle 1.

Mary loved planting her vegetable garden each year and going out to eat. Her true passion, however, was the love of fishing and cooking.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Duncan Kelly of Bay Minette, Alabama; two brothers, Robert Clemmons of Geneva, Alabama and Danny Clemmons of Coffee Springs, Alabama and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Hubert C. Clemmons; her mother, Mary Dell Clemmons Brannon; three brothers, Lonnie Clemmons, Jimmy Clemmons and Don Clemmons and a sister, Patricia Clemmons Miller.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021, at 1 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with Reverend Blair Beaver officiating. Burial followed at the Alabama State Veterans Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.

The family received friends Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021, from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. service at the First Presbyterian Church.

Pallbearers will be Scott Smith, Wilton Stapleton, Todd Clemmons, Tim Clemmons, Ben Thompson, Doug Marshall and Ray Coons. Honorary pallbearers will be Wendell Farmer, James Clemmons, Robert Clemmons and Randy Bailey.
