FOLEY — Margaret Roley, who has served as interim CEO since the beginning of January, has been named chief executive officer at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center effective immediately.

“South Baldwin Regional Medical Center has a strong commitment to serving the community with pride and compassion,” Roley said. “I look forward to continuing my working relationships with the board of trustees, physicians, employees and volunteers to build on the high-quality healthcare, exceptional patient experiences and strong employee engagement in our community’s hospital.”

Roley has led hospital initiatives at SBRMC since 2006, leading the medical center to maintaining an “A: Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade and CMS four-star rating. She has guided developments including the opening of SBRMC’s freestanding emergency department in Gulf Shores and most recently the planning and implementation of the hospital’s modernization project.

“Margaret is an exceptional leader, whose valuable expertise for growing services, working closely with physicians and achieving high quality standards will ultimately benefit our patients,” said Steve Love, chairman, South Baldwin Regional Medical Center Board of Trustees. “On behalf of the entire board, we appreciate her long-standing commitment to the hospital and community and we are excited to see Margaret in her new role.”

Born and raised in Baldwin County, Roley graduated from the University of South Alabama with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing, before receiving her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in 2018.

She currently serves on the executive board for Baldwin County Economic Development Alliance, serves on the board of South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce and United Way of Baldwin County, and is a member of Coastal Alabama Business Chamber, Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce and G.U.M.B.O.
