BAY MINETTE – A Daphne man has been charged with manslaughter on a charge that he provided drugs that led to the death of a woman in January, Baldwin County officials said Wednesday, Oct. 5.

Jourdan Solis, 32, is being held in the Baldwin County Corrections Center without bond, according to a statement issued by the Sheriff’s Office. He was arrested after an investigation into the death of the woman on Jan. 1, 2022.

The 39-year-old woman was found after Foley police received a call that someone had overdosed on East Laurel Avenue in Foley. The woman was not identified.

After an investigation that lasted several months, authorities identified Solis as the suspect believed to have provided the drugs, the statement said.

Investigators with the Baldwin County Drug Task Force began an undercover operation to target Solis as a source of supply for fentanyl and methamphetamine in the county.

Solis was arrested in August after a traffic stop on Interstate 10. Police found substances believed to be methamphetamine, fentanyl and heroin as well as drug paraphernalia, in his possession, the statement said. He was arrested and charged with trafficking illegal drugs.

A second investigation found evidence that indicated Solis had provided the drugs that led to the woman’s overdose, according to officials. A warrant charging him with reckless manslaughter was issued Tuesday, Oct. 4.

Solis was arrested and transported to the Baldwin County Corrections Center.

His arrest was the 14^th time Solis had been booked in the Baldwin County Corrections Center, according to jail records. Previous charges included drug violations, probation violations and receiving stolen property.

Agencies taking part in the investigation included the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, Foley Police Department, Baldwin County District Attorney’s Office, Baldwin County Coroner’s Office and the Alabama Department of Forensic Science.
