The Grand Marshall for the 2022 Lillian Christmas Parade is longtime resident Bob Donnenwirth.

Donnenwirth settled in Lillian after serving in the military as a combat helicopter pilot, flight instructor and master aviator.

To say he has been an active member of the community is an understatement. He co-founded the Lillian United Methodist Church, is a former post commander of American Legion Post 48, a charter member of the Optimist Club of Perdido Bay, past master of the Lillian Masonic Lodge 925, served as a member of the Baldwin County Planning and Zoning Board and was president of the Perdido Bay Environmental Association.

The annual Lillian Christmas Parade kicks off at 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 10 at the Lillian Community Club. The parade will travel east on U.S. Highway 98 to Sixth Street, north to Barclay Avenue, west to Santa Piedro Street and then south back to the Lillian Community Club.

An award ceremony will immediately follow the parade. Winners will receive $50 gift certificates for Best Overall, Most Creative, Most Enthusiastic and most Representative of the Spirit of Lillian. All participants will receive a certificate of participation. The event is sponsored by the Optimist Club of Perdido Bay.
