(1946-2024)
Larry P. Parris, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully on Jun. 17, 2024, at the age of 77. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Larry was born on Aug. 21, 1946, in Talladega, Alabama to Edward Glen and Annie Lou Parris (Hinson). He grew up in Anniston, Alabama, and attended Anniston High School. After graduating, he went on to have a successful career in construction and building components.
He was a devoted father and grandfather, and he loved spending time with his family. He was also an avid fisherman and enjoyed cooking (especially barbeque). He had many hobbies over the years from making stained glass, leatherworking, to woodworking and more.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents Glen, and Annie Lou, and his son, Glenn Parris. Larry is survived by his wife, Wanda Parris, his children Alan [Carrie Lynn] Parris, John [Christina] Martin , and Kathryn Harris, his grandchildren Keegan Parris, Gavin Parris, Declan Parris, Andrew [Haley] Martin, Breanna Harris, Charles CJ Harris, Jr [Summer] Harris, Kenna [Scott] Woolf, Hailey Martin, and Addalyn Martin, his great grandchildren Bentley Martin, Charlie Harris, and Avery Woolf, as well as his brother, Bruce [Anne] Parris.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 AM on Aug. 6 at St. Andrews by the Sea Church in Gulf Shores, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Christian Service Center in Gulf Shores.
Larry will be remembered for his infectious smile, his sense of humor, and his deep love for his family. He will be forever in our hearts.
