Kids camp at the Summerdale Public Library

Posted

Kids ages 6 – 14 camped out at the Summerdale Public Library on Friday, July 22, from 5 – 9 p.m. when the library hosted its first Camp Out Night at the Library.
The night featured crafts such as paracord bracelets and dreamcatchers, games including knot tying races, campfire guessing games, monopoly and library hide and seek, and traditional camp out cuisines like hot dogs, chips, watermelon and, of course, smores.
Then, the lights were turned off so the stars could come "out," and everyone told spooky campfire stories and watched movies of the children's choosing.
The Summerdale Public Library is planning future events such as this, but some, like the camp out, will have a limited number of spots available. To stay up to date on everything the library is doing, follow them on Facebook or visit www.summerdalelibrary.com.
