Baldwin County offers something for everyone. These events provide opportunities to create lasting memories with loved ones, explore local traditions and try something new.

Many events are free or low-cost, making them accessible for families across the area.

NATURE TIME

What: A naturalist will introduce some of the animals that live at Meaher State Park and offer a chance to meet educational animal ambassadors. Bring your questions and curiosity for this interactive program. Pre-registration is preferred but not required. Register at https://reserve.alapark.com/register/nature-time--meaher.

When: Thursday, Jan. 9, 9 a.m.

Where: Meaher State Park, 5200 Battleship Pkwy. E., Spanish Fort

Price: Free for overnight guests, veterans and children under 12; $3 park entry fee for others aged 12 and up

BOARD GAME NIGHT

What: Choose any of the board or card game selection and grab a table upstairs to sit down to a friendly competition at Spanish Fort Public Library. Ages 12-18. Participants are welcome to bring drink containers, with a secure lid or top and mess-free, non-greasy, non-sticky snacks to keep you in the game.

When: Thursday, Jan. 9, 4-7 p.m.

LEGO CLUB

What: Test your Lego skills each second Thursday of the month with a new theme at Gulf Shores Public Library. Display your finished work for viewing in the Youth Services area of the library. Ages 5-12. For more information, call (251) 968-1176 or email dfincher@gulfshoresal.gov.

FREE BUILD

What: The Fairhope Public Library Activity Room will be open for unstructured play and exploration with Lincoln logs, blocks, LEGOs and more. Parents must supervise their children and help clean up. Drop by to see what you can build.

STORY TIME & CRAFT

What: Bring the family and enjoy songs, a book and a craft. All ages.

D&D ADVENTURE'S LEAGUE PLAYER WORKSHOP

What: Dungeons & Dragons has been the go-to tabletop roleplaying game for nearly 05 years now — vast, immersive and intensely fun for people of all ages, a virtual playground where you can create your own character, join a party and go on fantastical adventures with friends. Join speaker Bryan Eslava for an informational workshop on how to play Dungeons & Dragons Adventurer's League-style campaigns. Bryan will break down all the basics of playing a game, so no prior experience is required. Must be 16 years or older to attend.

When: Saturday, Jan. 11, 2 p.m.

Where: Foley Public Library, 319 E. Laurel Ave.

GUIDED HIKE @ GULF STATE PARK

What: Educators will lead a guided hike along Lakeview Trail, highlighting the flora and fauna of Gulf State Park. Participants will enjoy views of Lake Shelby and learn about the park's ecosystems, which include 28 miles of trails and nine unique environments. Bring binoculars and water.
