Finding fun, family-friendly activities can be a challenge, but Baldwin County offers plenty of options for parents looking to entertain their kids year-round.

Whether your child enjoys hands-on crafts, creative play or a little bit of magic, local libraries parks and entertainment venues provide engaging experiences for all ages.

This upcoming week, enjoy making sea salt bath bombs with your little ones at the Gulf State Park or enjoy storytime at a local library. If you are looking to burn some of that extra energy kids always seem to have, try an open play session at Bay City Gymnastics. Special this week is a book launch and signing for the new children's book "The Lonely Penny" by Rebecca McClantoc. The book is inspired by some of Fairhope's beloved landmarks so you definitely don't want to miss the event.

No matter the season, there are plenty of ways to keep children entertained and inspired. These events offer the perfect chance to spend quality time with family, explore new hobbies and make cherished memories. Best of all, many are free or budget-friendly, making them accessible to families across the area.

SUNSHINE STORYTIME AT SUMMERDALE PUBLIC LIBRARY

What: Weekly storytime at the Summerdale Public Library. Kids can join for a morning filled with stories, fun and friends.

When: Thursday, April 10, 10 a.m.

Where: Summerdale Public Library, 202 W. Broadway St., Summerdale

ECO-ART SESSIONS AT THE LEARNING CAMPUS GULF STATE PARK

What: Join the Learning Campus at Gulf State Park for an exciting Eco-Art Series. Learn to create your own vitamin SEA in this class, where you'll explore the Gulf's salinity and the therapeutic benefits of sea salt while crafting all-natural sea salt bath bombs. Bath salts combine the restorative benefits of sea salt with the relaxing, soothing effects of organic aromas. This class is open to all ages. Cash payment is due at the door. "THE LONELY PENNY" BOOK LAUNCH AND SIGNING

What: Author Rebecca McClantoc will celebrate the official launch of her children's book, "The Lonely Penny," with a community event and book signing at Mr. Gene's Beans. Illustrator Taylor Peek, who will travel from Texas for the occasion, will join McClantoc to meet guests and sign books. The event will include free goodies for kids, books available for purchase and photo opportunities with both the author and illustrator. Children will also receive a shiny 2025 penny in a keepsake case to take home. The rhyming story, inspired by Fairhope and its beloved landmarks such as Mr. Gene's Beans and Fantasy Island Toys, explores themes of self-worth, kindness and finding value beyond appearances. TODDLER AND BIG KID STORYTIME

What: Fairhope Public Library will host two back-to-back storytime sessions. The toddler storytime, designed for children ages 18 months to 3 years, features 15-20 minutes of reading, rhymes and music, followed by 20 minutes of play, socialization or crafts and coloring. The big kid storytime, for children ages 4 and older, includes rhymes, music, games and crafts, helping children develop listening skills and a love of reading.

When: Tuesday, April 15; toddler storytime at 10-11 a.m., big kid storytime at 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Where: Fairhope Public Library, 501 Fairhope Ave., Fairhope

Price: Free

TOT OPEN PLAY

What: Bay City Gymnastics Academy will host an open play session for babies, toddlers and preschoolers. Activities will include gross motor play, sensory stimulation and socialization. Adults must supervise children at all times. For more information, call (251) 621-2112.
