John (Johnny) Marvin Boyd III., passed away peacefully on Dec. 19, 2023, at his home surrounded by family. Johnny was born on Dec. 21, 1939, in Edinburg, Texas, to John Marvin Boyd Jr. and Geraldine Stephens Boyd. He graduated from Carroll High School in 1959 in Corpus Christi, Texas. John was a resident of Fairhope, Alabama for the last 22 years. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, and working outside in the yard, but mostly cherished family functions where he laughed, danced, and spent time with those he loved. He was a Mason, a Christian, and served 17 years in the United States Marine Corps Reserves. Johnny was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, John and Geraldine Boyd, and his oldest son, Jerry Boyd. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patricia (Pat) Bravender Boyd, his brother James Logan Boyd, children, James (Jimmy) S. Boyd (Dana), Jeffrey M. Boyd (Kay), Geraldine (Deanie) Boyd Buck (Rodney Brown); 7 grandchildren, Barcley, Bailey, Camden, Cade, and Carson Boyd, and Kendall and Kenneth (Kip) Buck; his great-grandchildren, Winona, and Beckham. Visitation and service will be held in Fairhope, Alabama, on Thurs., Dec. 28th, 2023. Location and time to be announced.
