John Henry Hess III went to be with the Lord early Friday morning, Sept. 9, 2022, at the age of 60. Born on Aug. 23, 1962, he was a lifetime resident of Baldwin County, Alabama. He was a beloved father, son, husband, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved hunting, fishing, four wheelers and Alabama football. He is preceded in death by his father, John Henry Hess Jr., stepmother, Willodean Hess and stepbrother, Vance Millines of Andalusia, Alabama. He is survived by his wife, Sherry Hess, 2 sons, John Cole Hess and Jason Stiffler, their mother, Susan Stiffler Hess, stepdaughter, Jamie Howell, stepson, Nathan Coleman, mother, Carrie Etta Hess, two sisters, Pamela Kathryn Hurst, and Tammy Rose Smith, two stepsisters, Vickie Aker and Valerie Boyington and stepbrother, Vernon "Hippie" Millines. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 3 nieces, 3 nephews, multiple great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Services will be held at Fisherman Baptist Church in Bon Secour, Alabama on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. and funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Fisherman Baptist Church.
