Jersey Mike's Subs has joined the Fairhope food scene. The location held its grand opening July 31.

Franchise owners Laura Huff, Elizabeth Knight and John McDonald have been doing business in Baldwin County since 1990. The Fairhope Jersey Mike's location is the group's 24th location spread from north Atlanta to Orange Beach.

Why Fairhope? Owner Tim Huff said, "We have other business interests in Baldwin and Mobile counties and have watched the area grow. It's a dynamic area."

New to Jersey Mike's Subs? As the name implies, the quick-service restaurant is known for its freshly sliced meats and cheese piled on freshly baked bread. For the carb conscience, you can have any sub made as a bowl. Don't forget "the juice," a red wine and olive oil blend guests can add to their sandwich.

With so many choices Gulf Coast Media asked Huff what his go-to order is to you a starting point.

"My personal favorite is a regular #55 Big Kahuna Chicken Cheese Steak with half an order of jalapenos. So good," Huff said. "Two fan favorites are #13 The Original Italian with provolone, ham, proscuittini, cappacuolo, salami and pepperoni served Mike's Way. On the hot side, our fresh grilled #43 Chipotle Cheese Steak with grilled onions, peppers, white American cheese and chipotle mayo."

Jersey Mike's Subs joins the Polo Crossing strip mall in Fairhope. The retail strip mall is also home to Chicken Salad Chick and Coastal Pharmacy.

Jersey Mike's Subs Fairhope is at 19678 S. Greeno Road. The hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week.
