LOXLEY — The Baldwin County Board of Education nominated and approved Jason Woerner as the newest board member during a special meeting on Thursday, May 5. Woerner will serve as the representative for District 5, which encompasses Elberta schools and Swift School. His term ends in 2026. Robert Stuart vacated the seat earlier this year.
"We believe he will serve this community well," said Shannon Cauley, BCBE president. "We are looking forward to working with Jason to continue to advance education all across Baldwin County."
Woerner attended Elberta's schools before graduating from Foley High School in 1995. He graduated from Auburn University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in agriculture economics.
Following graduation from Auburn, Woerner returned to his hometown to pursue a career in agriculture.
Woerner and his wife, Kristen, have three sons, all currently attending school in Elberta. He serves as a deacon at The Point Church in Elberta, volunteers with the Elberta Youth Sports Association and volunteers within the schools.
Woerner can be contacted at jwoerner.bcbe@gmail.com.
