James Wade Lee, 83, of Orange Beach, Alabama, passed away at his home on May 14, 2025, after a battle with cancer. Born on Jan. 21, 1942, in McKenzie, Alabama to the late Clarence H. Lee and Lonie V. Lee (Lunsford). Wade was a 1960 Graduate of Citronelle High School in Alabama, graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business education from Livingston State University in 1965, and received a master’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1971.
He was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army in Jul. 1968 and served as an Infantry Officer honorably in the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in Oct. 1969 as a 1st Lieutenant.
Wade’s first marriage gave him his two sons Jeffrey Wade Lee and Michael Scott Lee. He married the love of his life and best friend of 36 years, Glenda Conner Lee, on Jan. 16, 1989. He was a devoted husband and loved spending time with his family.
Wade retired as an Assistant Principal at Frisco City High School, Alabama after 27 years as a guidance counselor/administrator at several schools across Alabama.
In addition to his parents, Wade was preceded in death by his youngest son, Michael Lee and his sister Peggy Joyce Castleberry (Lee).
Wade is survived by his beloved wife, Glenda, his son Jeff Lee of Flomaton, Alabama, his sister Wendy Rios (Lee), his two stepsons Sid and John Sawyer, seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Wade touched many lives and will be dearly missed by all his relatives and friends.
A funeral service was held at the Wolfe-Bayview Foley Chapel, 2551 S McKenzie St, Foley, AL 36535, on Sat., May 17, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. Visitation took place from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. prior to the funeral service.
Interment with military honors occurred at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Spanish Fort, 34904 Alabama Highway 225 Spanish Fort, AL 36527 Cemetery on Tue., May 20th at 2:00 p.m.
