James Jackson Kirksey, age 88, went to be with the Lord on Thurs., Nov. 7, 2024. Mr. Kirksey was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and faithful Baptist deacon. He served as a Command Sergeant Major in the Alabama Army National Guard. He was born to James and Rosa (Higdon) Kirksey on Aug. 12, 1936, in Monroe County, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, Ruth Peacock, Jewel Childres, Roan Taylor, Alice Salter, and Lillian Barnes, and his beloved wife, Sylvia Shepherd Kirksey. He is survived by two sons, Dr. Franklin Lee (Sharon) Kirksey, and James Frederick (Julie) Kirksey; three grandsons Caleb (Julie) Kirksey, Nathan (Abby) Kirksey, and Seth Kirksey; two great-granddaughters, Naomi and Jane, and other family and friends. Mr. Kirksey placed his faith in the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ as a young man. His funeral arrangements will be handled by Pine Rest Funeral Home with interment at Pine Rest Cemetery in Foley, Alabama. Thank you for your prayers on our behalf at this time.
