Mr. James E. Kleinschmidt, a resident of Foley, Alabama, passed away Sat., Jul. 20, 2024, at the age of 69. He was a graduate of Foley High school, 1973 and he proudly served his country in the US Navy for six years. He retired after 40 years from Gulf Telephone. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Summerdale. He was an avid fisherman and a Scout Leader, Pack 77 of Foley.
James was preceded in death by his daughter, Elizabeth Lane Kleinschmidt; sister, Pearl Elizabeth Kleinschmidt; parents, Erwin Samuel Kleinschmidt and Mildred Dugger Kleinschmidt.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Virginia “Ginny” Kleinschmidt of Foley; two sons, James Erwin (Laura) Kleinschmidt, and John Hamilton (Paola) Kleinschmidt of Foley; sister, Lisa (Bo) Joiner of Fairhope; four grandchildren, Alexis (Daniel) Hurter of Foley, Joyce, Aubree and Easton Kleinschmidt; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation was held on Wed., Jul. 24, 2024, at Wolfe-Bayview Chapel of Foley, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The funeral service was held on Thur., Jul. 25, 2024, at The First Baptist Church in Summerdale at 11:00 a.m. Interment followed the service at Pine Rest Cemetery.
