Jackie Hugh Neeley, affectionately known as “Jack of all trades”, passed away peacefully on Aug. 14, 2024, just three days after his 87th birthday. Born and raised in Anderson, Indiana, Jack was the youngest of nine children in a large, loving family. From a young age, Jack demonstrated a remarkable ability to solve problems and fix just about anything – a talent that would define his life and career. Jack owned and operated a successful construction company, where his skills and dedication were evident in every project he touched. His work was his passion, and he took great pride in providing quality craftsmanship and reliable service to his clients.
Jack was married to Alice “Teddy” Neeley, the love of his life, for 50 wonderful years. They celebrated their golden anniversary on Aug. 9, 2024, just days before his passing. Their marriage was a true partnership, filled with love, laughter, and adventure. After retiring, Jack and Alice embraced a new chapter together, buying a motorhome and exploring the beauty of the United Sates. Their travels brought them countless cherished memories, which they loved to share with family and friends. Jack and Alice were also deeply committed to fostering children in need, a passion that defined much of their lives. Over the years, they opened their hearts and home to 81 children, providing them with love, stability, and the best life they could offer. Jack’s legacy of generosity and compassion will live on through the many lives he touched.
Jack is survived by his beloved wife, Alice Neeley; three children, Bobby Robinson, Jackie Sue Calametti, and Jon Neeley; and their six grandchildren, Loren Robinson Drew and her husband, Austin, Jacob Robinson and his wife, Kassi, Whitney Calametti, Justin Calametti, McKenna Neeley, and Jett Neeley. All who will miss Jack dearly and carry on his memory in their hearts.
He is preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Erika Coghlan Robinson; his mother, Ethel Neeley; his father, Raymond Neeley; and all his eight siblings.
Jack was a member of the Silverhill Covenant Church and was strong in his faith. Jackie Hugh Neeley will be remembered not only for his extraordinary talents and work ethic, but also for his kindness, his love for adventure, and his boundless capacity to care for others. His life was a testament to the power of love, generosity, and dedication, and his memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
