Iowa-based communication company Mediacom Communications recently announced the return of their annual scholarship program, which distributes approximately $60,000 to college-bound high school seniors.
According to a Nov. 10 press release, this will be the 23rd consecutive year of the program and will award $1,000 to 60 students across the country who can then use the funds to support college costs or vocational training from an accredited institution starting in the fall of 2024.
The program will be accepting applications until Jan. 31, 2024, and award recipients will be chosen based on academic achievements and leadership accomplishments.
"Our company makes it a priority to give back to communities in which we do business, and we believe one of the best ways is to invest in promising young students who will be our future leaders," said Tapan Dandnaik, SVP of operations, product strategy and consumer experience.
According to the release, applicants do not need to be Mediacom customers but must live in the 22-state are served by the network, and a list of the supported communities are included with the online application.
