Update (June 25): The Department of Homeland Security released the following statement:
"Agents assigned to the Gulf of America Homeland Security Task Force conducted a worksite enforcement operation at Gulf Shores High School June 24, 2025. The investigative team included U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, FBI, the Drug Enforcement Agency, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations and deputies from Baldwin County Sherriff’s Office. The operation was coordinated after receiving multiple tips from members of the community about illegal immigrants being employed at the site."
"The agents encountered and arrested 36 illegal aliens and processed them for removal proceedings. Of the 36 undocumented workers that were arrested, seven were found to have a criminal record with charges ranging from DUI with property damage to Domestic Violence and other outstanding warrants. During the operation, one of the workers assaulted a federal agent. The worker will be facing federal criminal charges in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Alabama."
"'This operation sends a strong message to those who exploit illegal labor for profit, displacing American workers,' said HSI Special Agent in Charge Steven N. Schrank in Alabama and Georgia. 'Thanks to the dedicated efforts of HSI and our law enforcement partners, we arrested 36 illegal aliens working on the construction of a taxpayer-funded high school and arrested another individual for assaulting a federal agent. Violence against law enforcement is not tolerated and will be charged to fullest extent possible.'"
