Update: I-10 is completely reopened.

There may still be snow and ice on lawns and shaded areas throughout Baldwin County, but life is starting to revert to normalcy with the area’s State of Local Emergency being lifted as of 3 p.m. Jan. 23. Additionally, the “Impassable Roads Advisory” has now lifted.

Interstate 10 is now reopened in Alabama, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Senior Trooper Joshua Thompson said. One to two lanes remain largely closed in Florida starting south of Milton to Tallahassee.

Though the Baldwin County Commission has lifted the emergency advisories, the county’s Emergency Management Agency still advises motorists to use extreme caution when traveling. Icy patches may remain on shaded roads, bridges and overpasses, particularly during early hours. While weather conditions are improving, freezing temperatures are expected tonight and into the early morning hours,

All county-maintained facilities, including courthouses, will reopen on Friday, Jan. 24, during normal operating hours.
