Hope represents Spanish Fort at AHSAA Student Leadership Conference

Toro volleyball champion, ULM signee among state’s top student-athlete-leaders

The Alabama High School Athletic Association hosted its annual Student Leadership Conference last week and Spanish Fort’s Bailey Hope was among the attendees.

It was Hope’s second straight year representing the Toro volleyball squad through the two-day event that featured workshops, speeches and team-building exercises. She’s the first from Spanish Fort High School to participate in the event.

“So many great people were met through this experience and many great lessons and great memories were made,” she wrote on social media.

After she helped the Toros claim the 2019 Class 6A state title, Hope and the Spanish Fort squad made a run back to the state finals this past fall that included a postseason area championship over Bayside Academy. Although the Admirals eventually walked away with the Blue Map trophy as state champions, Hope was one of three Toros named to the all-state tournament team.

Over the winter, Hope signed her National Letter of Intent to join the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks’ beach volleyball squad after her time at Spanish Fort.
