The Friends of Swift-Coles received a contribution in support of their efforts to build an event pavilion on the grounds of the Swift-Coles Historic Home from state Rep. Frances Holk-Jones (R-Fairhope).
The $5,000 donation will support platinum-level sponsorship in the ongoing campaign. It is the latest of several donations received by the organization from area businesses, public entities and individuals who share the Friends' vision for helping the historic Swift-Coles Home become an even more vital part of the south Baldwin County community.
Swift-Coles is Baldwin County's only publicly owned historic home regularly open for tours. Originally built as a four-room dog trot cabin, the home traces its origins to the 1880s. This community landmark is a popular venue for weddings and a variety of other gatherings. The planned on-site event pavilion will be suitable for use by families, businesses and public and private groups for a variety of special occasions throughout the year.
The Friends of Swift-Coles, a nonprofit supporting the improvement of the Home, encourages area businesses, families and individuals to be a part of this effort. Sponsorships for the project are available at three giving levels, each including permanent recognition as a partner in the endeavor and an opportunity to attend the opening celebration scheduled for spring 2025.
