SILVERHILL, Alabama -- Clear skies and warm weather greeted attendees at the 34th Annual Heritage Day on Saturday, April 28, three weeks after the festival was postponed because of the threat of stormy weather.

The annual festival, which celebrates Silverhill’s primarily Swedish and Czech heritage, included arts and crafts, a game area, entertainment and food vendors, along with the annual Heritage Day parade, this year with former Silverhill mayor and lifelong resident Frankie Kucera serving as grand marshal.

Historic programs were also held at the Silverhill Covenant Church and the Oscar Johnson Memorial Library.
