Health screenings aim to detect risks early in Gulf Shores on July 19

Posted

Residents in Gulf Shores and nearby communities will have a chance to get ahead of serious health conditions when Life Line Screening brings affordable preventive screenings to town next month.

The Lodge at Gulf State Park Hilton Hotel, located at 21196 East Beach Blvd., will host the community event on July 19. Participants can learn about their risk for cardiovascular disease, stroke, osteoporosis, diabetes and other chronic conditions through a series of noninvasive tests.

Life Line Screening checks for plaque buildup in arteries, which can signal higher risk for cardiovascular disease and stroke. Other screenings include tests for Peripheral Arterial Disease, which measures narrowing of smaller arteries in the ankles and feet. Attendees can also check their HDL and LDL cholesterol levels and get a bone density test to assess risk for osteoporosis.

The screenings are designed to be convenient and affordable. Free parking will be available on-site. Special package pricing begins at $159, though consultants work with participants to customize plans based on age and individual risk factors.

Pre-registration is required. To schedule an appointment, call (877) 237-1287 or visit www.lifelinescreening.com.
