Culvert repair on State Park Road will close the road starting Tuesday, June 7, at 7 a.m. through Wednesday, June 8, at 5 p.m.

State Park Road needs infrastructure repairs because culverts are failing and causing deep potholes to reappear on a regular basis, according to Gulf State Park officials. The goal is to replace the culverts to alleviate further damage to the road surface and make the ride through the park a more enjoyable experience.

Barricades will be placed at two locations – State Park Road (west of Woodside Restaurant) and east of the entrance to State Park Headquarters. Visitors will be able to enjoy a meal at Woodside by entering State Park Road from the south entrance off Beach Highway. To State Park Headquarters, motorists should enter the park on State Park Road on the west off Hwy. 180. As an alternate route to using State Park Road, take Hwy. 59 to East Beach Boulevard during the closure.
