Families can enjoy an evening of campfires, music and beachside fun as the City of Gulf Shores hosts its annual S'mores on the Shore on Thursday, May 22.
The event, held at Gulf Place, 101 Gulf Shores Parkway, will kick off at 6 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs and friends to relax on the white sand of the Gulf Shores Public Beach.
S'mores on the Shore offers free activities for all ages, including a live DJ, a balloon artist, face painting and s'mores packets. Members of the Lions Club will be on-site selling hot dogs, chips and drinks. Representatives from the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo will also join the festivities, adding to the evening's family-friendly atmosphere.
"2010 marked the inaugural S'mores on the Shore event, which has become one of our most popular events among residents and guests," said Brigette Reynolds, Special Events Manager. "I am proud to have fostered starting this event! Seeing it become a tradition is truly rewarding. We are thrilled to bring free fun and excitement to our community, and we can't wait to see you there!"
Organizers say the event has grown into a beloved tradition, attracting both locals and visitors who want to experience the charm of Gulf Shores after sunset.
