Gulf Shores City Council is seeking input from residents and local business owners regarding a potential contract extension for Hangout/Sand in My Boots Music Festival.

To collect feedback from the community on the festival’s impact and future in Gulf Shores, the city has opened two online surveys — one for residents and one for business owners — and has scheduled a community input meeting.

The surveys are available now and will remain open until June 4. In addition, the community input meeting on June 5 at 6 p.m. at the Gulf Shores Cultural Center will give community members the opportunity to review the results of the online surveys and share their thoughts in person with city council.

Mayor Robert Craft emphasized the importance of community engagement, stating, “Before we make any decision about the future of the Hangout/Sand In My Boots Music Festival, it’s essential that we hear from the people who live and work here. We want to fully understand how the event affects our residents and businesses, both positively and negatively. Your feedback is crucial to ensuring that any action we take reflects the best interests of our community.”
