All three teams qualified for Alabama Cal Ripken All-Star Tournaments

Gulf Shores Little Leaguers were recognized during the July 25 city council meeting following impressive seasons.

All three teams – 8u, 10u and 12u – qualified for the statewide All-Star tournament for their Cal Ripken age group.

The 8u team qualified for the state tournament in Daphne with a third-place finish in district and the 10u team claimed the championship from the warm-up tournament heading into district where their second-place spot advanced the team to the state tournament in Florence.

Many players from the 12u squad ended their rec league careers after their 2-2 record at the state tournament in Andalusia. They registered a spot in the state bracket with their second-place finish in district play.
