Gulf Shores Junior City Council, made up of high school students, hosted their Spring Market at the Waterway Village as their first event since the group formed last October. Hosting a community event like this is required as part of the Junior City Council term. Around 15 local vendors participated in the event, selling items like peanuts, jewelry, food, coffee, balloon animals and Gulf Shores Police Department K9 stuffed animals. Bands from Gulf Shores High School played live music throughout the day. Some students and junior councilmembers sold produce grown in the school's greenhouse. Many junior councilmembers said they hope Spring Market becomes a regular event through the city.
