Big things are taking flight in Gulf Shores.
Gulf Shores International Airport is ramping up its services ahead of Allegiant Airlines’ debut on May 21 by securing its first rental car company. Hertz will provide on-site rental cars under both Hertz and Dollar brands.
“This partnership with Hertz represents a significant step forward in delivering a seamless travel experience for our guests,” Airport Director Jesse Fosnaugh said in a prepared statement. “Hertz is a globally recognized leader in the rental car industry, and we are excited to welcome them as a key component of our growing airport services.”
Hertz will begin accepting reservations in early April, giving travelers a convenient option as they plan trips to Alabama’s beaches.
The airport is also enhancing parking services by partnering with ParkMobile, a pay-to-park app already in use throughout the City of Gulf Shores and its public beaches. The integration aims to provide a seamless experience for visitors familiar with the system while improving efficiency for all airport guests.
“The addition of Hertz and ParkMobile is just the beginning,” Fosnaugh said. “We are actively working to develop more ground transportation options and services that will cater to the needs of our customers.”
Terminal construction is well underway, and several new businesses are preparing to launch operations at the airport. With Allegiant’s arrival, Gulf Shores International will offer nonstop flights to six destinations: Knoxville, Kansas City, Houston, Cincinnati, St. Louis/Belleville and Northwest Arkansas.
The expansion of Gulf Shores International Airport (JKA), including enhanced air service and infrastructure, aims to attract visitors, support local businesses and boost economic development throughout the region.
