Gulf Shores City Schools seeks new board of education member

Interested in serving on the Gulf Shores City Schools Board of Education?

The city recently announced they will be accepting applications for an open position until April 7.

According to Gulf Shores City Schools, the selected applicant will serve a five-year term, which is set to begin on June 1.

According to city officials, applicants must meet these qualifications to be considered:

  • Must be a current resident of Gulf Shores
  • Person of good moral character
  • Has obtained a high school diploma or its equivalent
  • Is not employed by the Gulf Shores City Board of Education
  • Is not serving on the government board of a private elementary or secondary educational institution
  • Is not on the National Sex Offender Registry or the state sex offender registry
  • Has not been convicted of a felony

According to the city's website, applications for the position are available online or at the City of Gulf Shores Executive Office, and all applications must be submitted no later than April 7, at 5 p.m.
