Gulf Shores and Orange Beach announce holiday closure schedules

As you begin to make plans for the holidays, please take note of the following closures in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach:

Gulf Shores Christmas closures:

  • Administrative offices for the City of Gulf Shores will be closed Thursday, 23 and Friday, Dec. 24. Regular operations will resume Monday, Dec. 27.
  • The Gulf Shores City Store will be closed Friday, 24 and Saturday, Dec. 25. Regular operations will resume Monday, Dec. 27.
  • The Thomas B. Norton Library will be closed Friday, 24 through Sunday, Dec. 26. Regular operations will resume Monday, Dec. 27.
  • The Gulf Shores Museum will be closed Friday, 24 through Monday, Dec. 27. Regular operations will resume Tuesday, Dec. 28.
  • The Bodenhamer Recreation Center and George C. Meyer Tennis Center will be closed Friday, 24 and Saturday, Dec. 25. Regular operations will resume Sunday, Dec. 26. Tennis courts will remain open and available for play throughout the holidays.
  • Republic Services Garbage and Recycling Services will run as scheduled.
  • Yard Debris/Bulky Pick-Up routes scheduled for service Thursday, 23 and Friday, Dec. 24, will be picked up earlier in the week, between Monday, Dec. 20 and Wednesday, Dec. 22. Residents should place all debris at the roadside by Sunday evening, Dec. 19, to ensure pickup. The self-service City of Gulf Shores Recycling Center, located at 160 W 36th Ave., will remain open for drop-offs regardless of the holiday schedule.

Orange Beach Christmas closures:

  • All non-essential city offices will be closed Thursday, Dec. 23 and Friday, Dec. 24.
  • Residential trash routes will run as normal, with no changes.

Gulf Shores New Year’s closures:

  • Police, Fire, and other emergency services will remain open to ensure public safety and health.
  • Administrative offices for the City of Gulf Shores will be closed Friday, 31 and Monday, Jan. 3. Regular operations will resume Tuesday, Jan. 4.
  • The City Council Committee of the Whole meeting will be held Tuesday, 4, at 4 p.m.
  • The Gulf Shores City Store will be closed Friday, 31 and Saturday, Jan. 1. Regular operations will resume Monday, Jan. 3.
  • The Thomas B. Norton Library will be closed Friday, 31 through Sunday, Jan. 2. Regular operations will resume Monday, Jan. 3.
  • The Gulf Shores Museum will be closed Friday, 31 through Monday, Jan. 3. Regular operations will resume Tuesday, Jan. 4.
  • The Bodenhamer Recreation Center will close at 1 p.m. Friday, 31 and remain closed Saturday, Jan. 1. Normal operations will resume Sunday, Jan. 2. The George C. Meyer Tennis Center will be closed Friday, Dec. 31 and Saturday, Jan. 1. Regular operations will resume Monday, Jan. 3. Tennis courts will remain open and available for play throughout the holidays.
