A new hydration system and equipment are heading the Gulf Shores football Dolphins’ way after a donation from the Gulf Coast Athletic Club.
A $10,096 check was presented to Gulf Shores head football coach Mark Hudspeth before spring practice got underway. The memo of the donation listed hydration system/sports equipment.
“GCAC funds scholarships for local athletes and athletic department requests. The club is made up of more than 80 men and women who are graduates and supporters of college athletic programs across the country, including the SEC and other conferences,” it says on the website. “Since its inception in 1999, our non-profit organization has provided in excess of $150,000 in benefits to local high school athletic programs.”
The Dolphin football team is gearing up for its second season back in Class 6A Region 1 following a 5A state title from 2023.
