GRITC returns to Baldwin County this summer, offers expanded opportunities for educators

Posted

The Gulf Regional Innovative Teaching Conference (GRITC) is set to return to Baldwin County July 21-23, bringing together educators from across the Gulf Coast for three days of hands-on learning, inspiration and professional growth.

Hosted by the Baldwin County Education Coalition (BCEC), GRITC is the Gulf Coast's premier professional development conference, designed by teachers for teachers. The event offers more than 150 interactive, 55-minute sessions tailored to different grade levels, content areas and interests, along with keynote speakers who inspire and empower educators.

Terry Burkle, BCEC's executive director, emphasized the importance of investing in teachers.

"Our teachers are on the front lines every day changing the lives of our children. It's important that we invest in them and equip them with the professional development and resources they need to be the best they can be," Burkle said on the BCEC website.

GRITC aligns with BCEC's core mission of elevating educators, acknowledging that effective schools depend on well-trained, well-supported teachers and administrators. Research shows that teacher professional development leads to stronger instruction and better student outcomes.

The three-day conference is timed to help educators kick off the new school year with fresh ideas and practical strategies. Whether participants are new to the classroom or experienced educators, GRITC provides real-world tools they can implement immediately.

Registration will open soon, and educators are encouraged to mark their calendars now. Sponsorship opportunities are also available for local businesses and organizations that want to support the professional growth of the region's educators.
