Last week, Joel Dixon's "good friend and fellow Australian James Telfer did something incredibly rare in the world of golf — a hole-in-one on a par 4 at One Club in Gulf Shores."
Telfer and his wife, Stephanie, were visiting Dixon and his wife, Anna, from Knoxville, Tennessee, during which they played a few rounds together. On May 26, they were on Hole 9 when Telfer made a clean drive that found the cup, witnessed by his friends and fellow golfers and bystanders near the club rooms of One Club.
"After we made our way back to the club rooms, those nearby were surprised and impressed, giving James a well-deserved round of applause for pulling off such a rare and well-executed drive," Dixon said. "... Aces on par 4s are almost unheard of and are a true testament to skill and a bit of golf magic. It’s a big moment for James and a proud one for the Gulf Shores golf community."
Dixon said his friends didn't take the new Allegiant flight from Knoxville to Gulf Shores International Airport this time because their trip was planned before the first flight but that they wanted to and will in the future.
