FOLEY - It’s almost time for the 28th Annual Foley Rotary Club Oyster Run, taking place on Saturday, Nov. 13 at Orange Blossom Square near Hollis Furniture. The event is the Foley Rotary Club’s largest fundraiser of the year. Proceeds raised from the Oyster Run go towards the Alabama’s Sheriff’s Boys Ranch, Jennifer Claire Moore Foundation, Ecumenical Ministries and other local charities.

The event begins at 8 a.m. with a 5K Run/Walk, followed by a One Mile Fun Run at 9 a.m. It’s $25 to participate in the 5K Run/Walk and $15 for the One Mile Fun Run. Anyone who wishes can participate in the USATF certified course. An awards ceremony will take place after racers have returned, along with door prize drawings.

Award categories include: Overall Male and Female; Master Male and Female (40-49); Grandmaster Male and Female (50-59); Senior Grandmaster Male and Female (60+); Wheelchair; Racewalk Male and Female; Fun Run Male and Female; and Top Three Finishers in Each Age Group.

Event sponsors include Ascend Performance Materials, Centennial Bank, Baldwin EMC, and South Baldwin Family Practice, with a special thanks to Foley Police Department, Bon Secour Fisheries, and Wolf Bay Lodge.
