George Alfred Labbee

Mr. George Alfred Labbee passed away on Saturday, April, 30, 2022. He was born on Nov. 4, 1951 and raised in Jefferson, Missouri to the proud parents Ohren and Minervie Labbee.

He had five children: Dwight Aligood, William Aligood, Angela Blackmon, Vanessa Labbee and Allen Labbee.

He had a smile and could tell jokes that everyone laughed at. He was a very generous man. He would help anyone with anything.

He worked on the Gulf Coast from Orange Beach to Fort Morgan doing maintenance for 33 years. He retired five years ago and enjoyed going to yard sales and estate sales.

He took ill and on October 21, 2022 was diagnosed with terminal cancer. There was nothing more he loved than playing golf with his son Dwight Aligood and playing darts and cornhole with his children and grandchildren when he had barbecues which he loved doing for his family and friends.

He was an amazing father, grandfather, husband and friend. He was loved by many, especially his wife, family, and many friends, and best friends Lilly, Petry, Babbye, Chris and Barb.

He was proceeded in death by his mother and father, Minervie and Ohren Labbee, sister Dottie Goodson and granddaughter Brittany Nichole Aligood (Peeka).

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Brenda Labbee, Elberta, Alabama; five children Dwight Aligood (Candace), Foley, Alabama, William Aligood (Elizabeth), Foley, Alabama, Angela Blackmon, Milton, Florida, Vanessa Labbee, Pensacola, Florida, and Allen Labbee, Huntsville, Alabama; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Tommy Labbee (Maggie), Tennessee, and Ohren Labbee Jr., Tennessee; four sisters, Linda Howell (David), Tennessee, Vanessa Wagner (John), Missouri, Brenda David (Rick), Missouri and Louise Yarbough, Missouri; and many nieces, nephews, sisters- and brothers-in-law, and countless friends.

He was called home to the lord on April 30, 2022. It is his wishes to have a celebration of life in his backyard on May 14, 2022 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Community Hospice, 1450 N. McKenzie Street, Foley, AL 36535.
