Gala to benefit The Haven, Baldwin County's first-ever no-kill animal shelter

Posted

Baldwin County's first no-kill animal shelter has been recognized nationally for its work to shelter and provide homes for abused, neglected and unwanted dogs and cats, and now you have a chance to support its efforts simply by spending an evening filled with music and delicious food.

The organization's annual Tails of Hope Gala, will this year take place at the picturesque Glory Farms, 13780 Norris Lane, in Foley, 6 to 10 p.m., on Oct. 10.

"This year's Tails of Hope Gala is shaping up to be an unforgettable evening," said Dorothy Toth, the chair of the Tails of Hope Gala. "With the support of our generous sponsors and the community, we are looking forward to raising vital funds for our lifesaving programs, ensuring that more animals get the care they need and find loving forever homes."

The Haven promotes the importance of spaying and neutering pets and pet responsibility through education, volunteers and limited staff to achieve its mission. Its lifesaving programs have served over 11,000 pets since its inception in 2000.

All proceeds from the event will benefit those programs, which include care, medical attention and adoption services. The nonprofit relies heavily on donor support, volunteers and limited staff.

Two media representatives, Cherish Lombard of WKRG and Glenn Johnson of Cumulus Media, will emcee the night. Guests will dance the night away to the lively tunes of Mr. Big & the Rhythm Sister, while savoring a menu crafted by Rouxters Catering. The event will also feature an open bar offering wine, beer and a specially crafted "puptail." Alongside great music and food, attendees can look forward to a range of silent auction items with items donated by local businesses, exciting raffles, the experience of a 360-video photo booth and more.

"The Tails of Hope Gala brings our community together in a powerful way, showing that with compassion and generosity, we can create brighter futures for countless animals in need," said Michael Graham, The Haven's executive director. "We are deeply grateful for the support that makes this important, life-changing work possible."
